The media image of colapsed Bangladesh textil factory in april 2013 and analysis of way czech media inform about textil industry in developing countries before and after this event

In April 2013 in Bangladesh building with five textile factories in which 1,129 people died, collapsed. A period of two months followed by when the media reported on violations of human and labor rights more than for the whole period of eight years before followed. The aim of this work is media image of human rights shown on the largest textile disaster in April 2013. The aim is to describe the media construct of human rights in the Czech serious media and their Internet sites. The solution I used is a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis and analytical part is divided into two periods. The first part of the analysis focuses on the period of one year after the collapse of the factory, the second part analyzes the period from January 2005. I managed to describe how the Czech serious long-term media ignore human rights themes and focuses only to the news reporting.
Working Conditions in the Developing Countries: The Effect of the International Organizations

This thesis is focused on the labor conditions of garment industry in developing countries. The text is structured as a comparative case study that is concerned with the situation in Cambodia and Bangladesh. Case studies of these countries describe domestic garment industry, its general and specific problems and a rate of compliance with labor standards. The goal of the thesis is to determine whether international organizations have an influence on the improvement of labor conditions in developing countries and compare it with other relevant actors. In this particular case the attention is focused on the International Labor Organization which manages its supportive programs in both countries but in a different manner. A pilot ILO program focused on the private sector has started in Cambodia thirteen years ago while in Bangladesh ILO had managed to run traditional program focused on the public sector until the Rana Plaza tragedy. Moreover, in the case of Bangladesh is a characterization of change after the tragedy. The thesis examines innovative ILO program that focuses on the monitoring of the garment factories, its functioning and outcomes. This bachelor thesis is focused on Islamic fundamentalism in Bangladesh. The work is based on a case study that uses the qualitative research method and the amount of rele-vant data needed to analyze the issue after gaining independence in 1971. The first part is devoted to an explanation of technical terms, which are mentioned in the next section of the thesis. The second section of the thesis is focused on the analysis of the presence of Islamic fundamentalism in Bangladesh. The connection of Islamic fundamentalism with the political sphere follows the second section.
The importance of remittances in the context of contemporary development discourse

This thesis focuses on the phenomenon of remittances (money or products sent by migrants to their countries of origin) and their relation to current development discourse. The volumes of remittances are still growing and this revenue has become especially significant for developing countries. This thesis, therefore, does not only focus on the economic contribution of remittances but analyses them in a broader context. Its aim is to find whether and how do remittances contribute to the overall development of poor countries. This thesis offers a historical overview of developmental discourse and followed by specification of four key concepts of current development (empowerment, ownership, good governance and sustainable development), whereby this thesis constitutes a framework for further analysis. Remittances are substantially connected to the concepts of empowerment and ownership. They enable the recipients to meet their needs more freely and decide how to invest their money. From the point of views of good government concept, it is important, that remittances can help to put more pressure on the democratization of developing countries. Geopolitical aspects of the India-Bangladesh relation

This paper deals with the main geopolitical aspects of India-Bangladesh relation. It covers the process of creation of the Indo-Bangladesh border, problems originating from its constitution including the Cooch Behar enclaves and efforts of the both countries to resolve these problems by the means of bilateral treaties. It also focuses on illegal migration from Bangladesh to India, analyses its causes and its influence on the security in the North-east India and Indian political scene. Disputes concernig the fresh-water sharing, emerging from Indian dams and irrigation canals, either allready built, or planned.
